2 X 151th S19 vs 1 X overclocked S21 prices

Was thinking the other day, we all know there will be overclocking firmware for the S21 series and if the S19 miners are anything to go by then 50% with the right cooling and PSU will be achievable.

If you get a S21 for $3100, water cooled PSU for $400, 12kw radiator for $450, water plates roughly $200 then you have a 300TH setup for under $4200 before shipping. If you have immersion already then you’re off to the races and would save $650.

So I guess it comes down to the price of what the S19 miners will be, and also shipping. But if it’s $2500 for an 150th miner you might be able to save $1000 (or more if you already have immersion) for running most likely the same efficiency and same
TH. What does everyone think of this? Will the XP miners be too cheap to not make it worth it?

The s19xp units don’t have the greatest reputation. I’m not sure what the 21’s will be and I think they may be a smaller nm chip that the 5nm xp units. I believe the smaller the chip the more difficult the heat is to pull off it because of a higher concentration. That would be a very hard decision. If it were me, assuming reliability is good and out of the question, I would go for a 21 if that timeline works well for you since they aren’t released yet. I say this because of power consumption savings over the long run and if immersing or modifying heavily then you’ll likely want to keep it in use for a long time. Once immersed it may be difficult to resell.

Just my thoughts. So far my xps have not had any issues, knock on wood. They’ve been in use since last feb and immersed for maybe half that time.

If it were me, I’d go with k pro’s. They are the same chip as the xp’s just overclocked a bit as there are less of them.

I think at the moment in terms of paying for the S21 in BTC to the amount I will receive back in mining I wouldn’t recoup the BTC without selling the miner so I personally will keep just trying to run S19 miners on solar and hopefully next year an extra 35MW of biogas.
