3D printing to attach air filter to miner?

Hey guys so I’m currently printing some fittings for an L7 so I can attach an air duct to the fans. I’m just wondering if anyone has attached air filters to help keep the miner clean or would that restrict air flow too much? I don’t want to void warranty by opening the miner to clean so just trying to keep it as clean as possible on the inside. If anyone has done this I’d like to hear, thanks!

I tried this on my L7 and the key factor was to make sure the air duct doesn’t have a lot of turns/bends in them or else you will over heat the miner. The straighter the better.

best of luck

If you filter the air then you will need to create more surface area, otherwise it will restrict airflow, which under loads fans and can cause them to go out sooner.

the more dense the filter the more surface area you will need. If you use a mid grade hvac filter it would be ideal to have at least twice as much surface area as your initial miner intake.

Thanks mate. I have changed plans and am turning an old chest freezer into this UpstreamData-DIY-BlackBox · DIY Guide for a BlackBox ASIC enclosure. (econoalchemist.github.io) but I will add a filter on the side of the box. Might run a small fan to keep fresh air pumping into it if needed.
