Air conditioning connected straight to mining ducts

Hey guys, was just wondering if any of you have connected air conditioning directly to your miners. I’ve been looking on reddit and a lot of people are complaining their L7’s are turning into bricks and everytime they post screenshots their temps are 20-30 degrees Celsius higher than mine (probably because it’s Winter here in Aus and summer up north in US/Europe.) I want to keep my miners in the best possible condition for the long haul. I was thinking of buying a 2.2kwh portable air con unit that goes down to 17 degrees Celsius. Then having that in a reasonable size box to keep the air as cold as possible and then have ducts from that box to the miners, then duct the hot air out and this will be in a shipping container connected to 40kwh solar so electricity will not be an issue. I am just wondering if anyone has done anything similar and had any issues. Or if anyone has any ideas id love to hear it. Many thanks legends

Air conditioners have a tendency to put out humid air so ust be mindful of this. The best type of cool air for electronics is dry air

Thanks for this I was not aware and did not think of that (which is why I asked cos I know sweet F all!)
The one I’m looking at removes 50.9L of water from air over a 24 hour period and has a dry/dehumidifier function also I’m not sure if that’s enough to run 7 ASICS.

I run a 24k mini split behind my miners on intake on hot days and have exhaust fans running in the hot part of the room, so far all my machines run great

it really depends on what type of AC you have. an evaporative one will create more air moisture, but one with a compressor and refrigerant should condense moisture out of the air.

the only issue here is CFM. If the unit doesn’t put out enough air volume then you will starve your miners, the fans will be underloaded and will run harder which can cause them to burn up faster. especially if you connect them directly.

Thanks for this. I went out and bought what I needed today. the hot air will be ducted out but I’ll take into consideration whether I need to duct straight from the aircon to the miners or let the air con cool the whole container. its a 4m X 2m container. Perhaps will do testing to see what works best. Thanks ledgend

this is an interesting, very efficient, cooler… and you could use the heat from the miners to dehydrate the liquid desiccant…

Focus on exhaust fans. Create negative pressure pulling air through the miners and your screaming l7 fans will actually be able to slow down.

Use a quality pdu, proper electrical setup.

Didn’t Vosk do a video about the exact setup you are talking about? I am new to this but from what I have seen i think airflow is more important than just cooling the air.
