ASIC Mining Electricial Question

Alright, so i’m fairly new to ASIC mining. I’ve been Mining with a bunch of GPU rigs for a few years now. But those rigs are doing fine when it comes to electricity. So my question is when purchasing a ASIC miner. What do I have to tell my electrion on how many watts/amp breaker I need. Also, if I wanted to run a few ASIC miners How would that go about?

your gonna want 240v with 30 amp outlets. your average asic uses around 3000-3300w. also vosk has a basics for electric video he did a few months back that should still be up to date.

That really depends on the asic miner you want. I have an HS-Lite from goldshell that uses about 700watts and plugs into my regular wall outlet. I also have an L7 that needed the 240v upgrade. I did use the vosk electrical video as a reference to order the correct parts and had an electrician do the work for me.

best of luck

It really does depend on which miner. Compare an L7 at 3425 watts to an ibelink bm-k1+ at 2250 watts.
I put in a 100 amp sub panel to power an L7 and future whatever. 3425 watts is 14.2 amp on 240 volt. So a 20 amp breaker is fine. (80% of 20=16 amps)
A k1+ can go on a 15 amp 240 circuit cuz it draws 9.4 amps.
Research which miners you may want and talk to your electrician. I would suggest wiring for big miners. Easier to put in smaller breakers than rewire for bigger asics. Best of luck.

alright thank you. i will def talk to him about it. Also, The fridge plug Could I use that or no?

Okay thank you will look into it

Assuming you are in US and all is equal, the fridge is most likely 120 volt and will not work with 240v asics. Clothes dryer and stove/range are 240v but any adapters can be dangerous. Don’t burn your house down, invest in an electrician. Also keep in mind that some asics need 2 outlets on the same circuit. If you buy an asic that only needs one it’s fine, just don’t use the second outlet.
