Asic mining enclosure

Hi guys, i looking to make an enclosure for my miners in a corner of my garage, not sure if it would work…

It would have roughly 4 feet long x 3 feet wide x 9 feet height, big exhaust fan shooting outside at the top of a wall and an outside intake air trap with filters at the bottom of the other wall.

Planning to put some of my L3+ in there, maybe 3-4 or them + 1 bigger asic like an S19 or avalon 1246.

Anyone have some experience with a similar setup?

Im just not sure its realistic for asics temperature wise…

Thanks.

What you could do possibly is to build some sort of a rectangular heat reservoir. If you could build it with an aluminum panel, that would probably be the best. If no aluminum, 1/2 inch plywood or osb is fine. Make a 8 inch hole and use an insulated duct to connect it between the outtake fan and the 8 inch collar and tighten it with a zip tie on each side. I’m currently running 7 big asic miners and my garage temperature is less than 20 degree celcius. It used to be over 33 degrees running just 2 s19s before. i hope this helps!

You would need to purchase this: Antminer DR5 S11 S15 T15 S17 T17 S19 Z9 Z11 8” Double fan duct Shroud eBit 10.2 | eBay

So your running your asics exhausts into a box and then this box is vented outside ?

Do all your 7 asics exhaust into that same box?

Yes, the box size has to be somewhat large. Mine is w:60 inch x h:84 inch x d: 24 inch. I couldn’t find an aluminum panel at the time I built mine, so I went with 4x8 osb instead. you can customize the size as you wish. Don’t buy anything under 8" double fan shroud for big asic miners. Small miners like L3 is fine with 6 inch but I wouldn’t go anything lower than that.

Sounds like a nice setup!

I tought of doing a kind of asic closet in the corner of the garage since i weld and work on my cars there, i dont want to damage the asics, also in winter its really cold here, i could just open the closet door a bit and heat the garage as i do now with a couple of l3+

I would put a big 16 or 18 inch variable speed exhaust fan there at the top and a outside air intake at the bottom.

Dont know if it would work…

this could work to heat up your garage lol. give it a try. it’s always good to explore new options.

Well, its not 100% finished but it looks like this :

Ac infinity 800cfm exhaust fan shoots into my attic, plugged into a google nest thermostat so in winter when its cold, the fan starts just when needed.

I keep the door open currently so it keeps my garage warm and dry during winter, in summer the door will be closed and fan will probably run 100% of the time.

Spare electric outlets are already installed, just need some shelving for 1 or 2 more miners in there.

The L3’s are on a rolling platform i already had, so i can move them in/out the enclosure easily when needed.

I just tried the setup with the door closed tonight and i am able to keep this thing pretty cool with the fan running at about 75%, i could probably even go with the fan a bit lower at this time of the year.

So overall, its far from perfect but i am happy with this little setup!

Hope it can help some people on the forum

Great content here already, Thank you for posting. I’m too mining in my shed and need to figure out the heat management. What I’m looking for is a shroud that accounts the air from the power unit as well, not just the fans. I do understand the fans are the ones I need to worry about, but the PSU produces heat too, and I’m trying to see if there is a shroud out there that covers that too, or if there is other solution. TY in advance!
