Totally new to all of this and I have a bitmain S21 XP with the vnish overclocking upgrade that is mining great with the stock fans but incrediibly loud. I ordered the shroud kit from Fruition with Njord and added an AC Infinity T10 fan and now have it all hooked up and it’s running beautifully. The issue now is when i replace the cover to the miner’s board it always shuts itself off. I don’t know if it’s restricting a little airflow that is enough to cause issues now or if something is being hit now by the metal cover and “shorting” itself out. anyone have this issue and know what to do about it? I really don’t want to leave the cover off.
Can you take a picture of it mate? If it’s only happening when you put the lid back on while the machine is running then I’d think it’s making a bad contact in the process, and I’d advise against doing that with the miner on. Turn the miner off, put the lid on properly and then turn it on. From memory the shrouds I made were a tight fit and I had to have the lid on first before tightening the screws
Did it work after turning it off and putting the lid back on while it’s off mate?
Haven’t gotten back to the ranch to try that yet. I should be able to do it later today or tomorrow and will post the results. I really appreciate you assistance with this!
Ok, finally got back out there. I unplugged the miner and then replaced the cover. Restarted the miner and it wouldn’t start mining again. I rebooted and restarted mining several time and it would never start. Took the cover back off and it started mining again. Here are a couple of pics; when I was moving the cover around the metal hit one of the screws in what looks to me like a bus bar or something (maybe just a bracket to hold things in place) and sparked. All is good and working now but I still can’t put the cover back on fully, I just have it resting on the top.
