Anyone else notice that this whole forum is just supposed vendors shilling miners?
Someone think they can come in here and start selling miners has to earn the business. Most of us have been scared and scammed.
Not going to lie Iāve been totally been scared away from any reseller that doesnāt hold the product and it seam there are some on here that are legit and sound like great people to deal with
Forgive my ignorance , what is shilling?
promoting goods, services, or people/organizations. The term usually comes with a negative connotation. Or on the urban dictionary
shill
A person engaged in covert advertising. The shill attempts to spread buzz by personally endorsing the product in public forums with the pretense of sincerity, when in fact he is being paid for his services.
Most of these sellers could care less about people, and are only trying to make a quick buck. I came to this community in an effort to help others who are new to the space, but it seems most of the posts here recently are just resellers spamming threads in effort to gain sales.
We completely understand and are privy to the landscape.
However, not sure what more assurance we can give: we are a registered business in Hong Kong with a certificate of incorporation and registered office in Hong Kong. Unlike many other āHong Kongā vendors, we actually are happy to have you visit our office and meet.*** Weāre more than happy to jump on video calls and show our faces. Hell, even if a simple phone call will give you some assurance, weāre happy to accommodate.
The bottom line is: weāre happy to show our faces, weāre not hiding behind an identity.
*** Context for this is - there was a Reddit post in which a customer tried to visit another āHong Kong officeā but was turned away. Turned out that the vendor was a Shen Zhen business, but was using a Hong Kong address as a shop front.
If you donāt mind, Iām going to crosspost one of our comments we made on Reddit (weāre more active there). Weāve been trying to āeducateā ways that individuals can try and identify legit sellers.
Never understood why people here and on other forums keep trusting randos with their money, but not legit sellers. There are plenty around, if you dyor.
Some simple questions and requests to ask a seller:
ā¢ local meetup - see below if not possible
ā¢ jump on a phone call
ā¢ jump on a video call
ā¢ legit business address
Seriously, anyone not willing to hop on a quick phone call you should 100% avoid. Most of you are in the US, how hard is it to make a domestic phone call? Hell, you can call international numbers on Signal, TG, WhatsAppā¦ You donāt even need a domestic number.
Even better, get them to video call, you can see what they look like. You know the saying ājudge a book by its coverā, yes apply that. Does your gut tell you he/she/they look shady? You be the judge, you choose whether you are comfortable parting with your money.
A legit business will be more than happy to accommodate any of the above. A scammer will 100% try to deflect and not reveal any information. Why is that? Coz he is gonna hit and runā¦
Part 2:
It isnāt very conducive for a business to scam: the barriers to entry, namely, time and red tape required, are significant. As a reference point, in Hong Kong, setting up bank accounts, registering a business, take around 4 months. Sure, some people might go through all that effort to scam, but it is in their best interest to operate legitimately and build good relationships with clients. Now, I canāt say the same for individuals - no barrier to entry, no footprint, no ramifications.
Will reiterate, a seller not willing to:
ā¢ local meetup - see below if not possible
ā¢ jump on a phone call
ā¢ jump on a video call
ā¢ provide business address
is one that you should think twice about dealing with. Please, ask yourself why they wouldnāt volunteer that sort of information? Either theyāre: a) lazy b) incompetent c) fraudulent/ scammer.
I shoulda looked that up. Thanks Aaron
Do your prices include import tax? Thank you
Yes, our prices are all-inclusive landed to the USA, save for shipping costs.
