I think you need to be more specific on what information you seek.

I have 3 S9J and the control board only has the SD slot to reload firmware when the OS is so messed up you cannot access in a web bowser. All the units function fine with no SD card in them.

You don’t need an sd card for mining you only need it if you want to download special software or if you need you need to fix the software.
