Plotting and Farming are two different categories…
Large capacity SSD are the future of storing and farming already created Chia plots. Chia is betting on the advancement of SSD’s as the go to storage and farming of already created Chia plots. They offer energy efficiency and the number of I/O’s does not affect SSD’s. They are the perfect choice for farming Chia plots. Only thing holding them back currently is the cost. Cost should come down as SSD technology advances and becomes more abundant.
Plotting on the other hand, which is the creation of Chia plots is a totally different animal. SSD is not the first choice anymore since GPU with RAM plotting has arrived…
The Evergreen Miner does not Plot. It only farms already plotted plots…
Like I said, the article is way off base.
Please disregard it as there is no useful information that is accurate when it comes to Chia.
