Going out of town while mining... Dangerous?

Hey Folks,

I’m very new to crypto mining and have an upcoming semi-long vacation in the summer. Curious to know whether if you shut off your miners while you are away for extended time or is there a preventive measure you put in place & still run them?

Thanks as always,
Jaxon

This very much depends on your situation. I don’t shut down my miners when I leave town for a long time. You can monitor your miner’s activity remotely. If something doesn’t seem right have a friend or family member check on things. If something does happen then I just tell them to power down everything. I do have circuit interrupters put in place of my GPU’s and smaller ASIC machines as a precaution, but they haven’t gone off yet.

Thanks!! Definitely going to consider this.

Thanks RetroParc! That is what I am thinking… but then again friends/family aren’t always available in the event of emergency hahah , speaking from experience.

You can also get power points/power boards you can turn on/off with your phone if it’s connected to wifi and you have internet on your phone and then if you have an app such as MinerBox you can monitor the performance of the miner from there
