Has anyone mined Monero?

Ok so I am new to mining, and looking for an ASIC miner to get started with Kadena, but I would also like to try moning Monero on a CPU as well. I really like Monero as a project.

So can I use my desktop, or should I buy a new CPU, and if so, what should it be equipped with?

Well if you don’t mind buildin a Threadripper machine go ahead. It will cost as much as an ASIC. Most processors only give yo like a dollar a day in XMR.
