i believe fry miners are not supposed to be dual mined on the same device. not saying you cant do it. but you should probably not. but if your talking about mining something else and using it as a fry miner i dont see why you wouldnt assuming your pc can handle the compute power.
Did you get the fry bundle or just a license and BYO PC? I did BYO PC and I would be able to run other nodes on it if was inclined. I’m not sure what the bundled ones look like. CryptoJar does a bunch of content about Fry nodes. Petty sure he put ETCMC on one of them.
I’m splitting the GEODNET hardware into the Fry. Nordic Crypto has a guide on that. So dual use of the antenna, but single use of the Fry device.
Hi,
I bought 2 x Plug and play Fry Satellite miners, I think from memory they are HP Elitedesk, So I think mostly they should be able to run / mine something else (Probably not Fry based) and probably not ETCMC, as I have one ETCMC plug and play miner already and I think they require SSD, and I think the Fry machines I have just have HDDs…
I would be interested in what other people are mining on their PCs with Fry… I would like to try and earn a bit more from it
Cheers
I would guess pretty much anything that can have the ports adjusted would work. Just unfortunate that most of the things I can think of have tanked. I have ETCMC and Xally.ai on the same machine no problem, but I wouldn’t recommend either of those. Larissa has easily configurable ports, but that one has also gone down to uneconomic. Maybe throw xmrig on it and cpu mine Zeph. It won’t do much but it’s probably better than most of the nodes right now. You’d need to limit threads so the fry kept working.
