How many of you regret buying miners or starting to mine at all? Let us know if your miners are left powered OFF…
How many miners are left not mining at all? When can they be reasonably switched on again?

I don’t regret at all. Sent my L7 to be hosted in the US. I would avoid buying my kda box pro’s and ck box’s again simply because they are running at a massive loss only 6 months later. In hindsight (ha ha ha great thing eh?) I’d avoid box miners unless you have free electricity, which in the uk I don’t. Solar is so expensive and in the UK we are not blessed with sun all year round.
I have moved more towards things like flux nodes and chia. I will look to buy certain coin as opposed to mining it and will hodl ckb and kda. Same with hnt. My bobcat 300 failed and I replaced it with one I have spare. The device only uses 5 W so I might as well continue to use it.
I love mining and everything about it and am not deterred in any way. I will just diversify and look upon the long term. That’s my strategy.
Love your passion for mining!
All Goldshell miners need to be avoided these days. They kept screwing their clients who were willing to pay a fortune for their KD6, KD Max, etc, and will continue to do so Anyway, Bitmain has gained a full monopoly over mining all kinds of coins.
Happy mining, Max. Happy getting rich.
leave them running and keep stacking coin especially during bear market
It’s easy to say that when you can still afford the bills.
i feel most people who are into mining, due to the financial investment already knew what they were getting into and their profitability. regret is for poor planners.
Totally agree.
In the uk we are paying 60p/kWh. Or 74c in your money if you’re in the us. So that’s around $60 a day in electricity when the miner is making approx $21 a day. I don’t anyone could afford to just leave their miners on when you’re dealing with these figures.
Minings been a massive learning curve and still is. But it’s part of the fun. Learning to adapt and branch out into other areas again is part of the fun.
Holy F that is crazy prices last I heard I thought it was 40c USD. Is natural gas cheaper? If you have gas mains is it possible to run a natural gas generator? How any household can function on those prices is beyond me
The uk is ridiculous. We were told by the gov at the end of last year there was not enough electricity capacity to power the country because all the coal burners were shutdown and replaced with gas burners and most of the nukes were shutdown. I do have gas. Something to think about. It’s why I’ve also switched off the box miners.
Sadly people actually don’t know if they can afford to use the gas or electric. It’s hit me hard with the l7 and why I shipped it to the us to be hosted. Also I’m running a couple of flux nodes using a tiny mini pc which uses very little electricity. I’m also looking at finishing off a server to mine and farm chia and create a 10 terabyte node as you earn 15% flux and the standard rate from node which is about 2.5% per node. I find flux and web 3 interesting and why I’m hoping to create the 10 terabyte (fractus) node later because it’s predicted there will be a massive need for cloud space and proof of useful work. It’s just something I find of interest.
Hosting in the US seems the way to go for both getting cheap power rates and stable regulations.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Max. Are you a subscriber of the Youtube channel DJ Mines? He seems to be talking about Flux a lot!
I haven’t checked him out as of yet. I will look at that. Thanks for the heads up. Flux is a very long term thing for me and I enjoy running the nodes.
I’ve been mining for a couple years and it’s definitely not profitable unless your miners or power is free. I still have several mining but barely breaking even
By the time I pay electric.
exactly, if you are not investing in renewables for your home or using hosting services it’s pretty fruitless. check our the Give energy system, it’s awesome when used in conjunction with octopus energy.
it can be difficult and many mining operations face the same issues, if you can pay your costs and hodl however, a lot of miners will do well in the next projected bull run
Yes turned off kd6 with 12 cent kwh.
