I am asking about the best type of mining rig to use as a beginner

Hey, I want to have an efficient, profitable, affordable(cheap) ASIC mining rig to start with my home mining .
PLEASE HELP ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT.

Start small. Goldshell boxes are a good starting point but you wont make much money at this time. Some will say the ipollo miners but ETH will eventually go POS

Was your mining experience with Goldshell too
And when did you attain BEP(Break even point) .

Depends on the box miner but you’re looking at 18-24 months. The KD6se has a breakeven of 14-16 months but requires 240v.

I’m selling a bundle of 3 Goldshell miners that have a 12 month ROI combined, maybe better:

You’re being very optimistic. Currently at $0.05/kwh you’d expect to earn ~$2.00 profit from those three miners and that’s rounding up. Puts ROI at two years.

I suppose that depends on how you’d like to calculate ROI, your coin holding strategy, your return period and other factors.

Yes, if you want to calculate ROI on USD profit only and short term gains against the cost of the initial investment, you are correct, it could be longer than 12 months.

If you factor in that we are at or near a bottom, and if you hold the coins, you’ll be in larger profit in both native coins and USD - probably many times higher than I suggest. If you HODL 2 years or more, the upside is likely greater.

Many miners also form an LLC and use their miner purchases and power use as a tax write-off. This is of course not tax advice but those who do this enjoy additional ROI gains.

That said, regardless of your preferred formula or investment window, these units are lightly used, priced way under retail, include a power supply and ship from the US.

For the right buyer, I’d probably even help them configure them over a zoom call.

Completely agree with everything you said, very well stated. Wanted to make sure Benito has all the info.
