I am very new and i have been following voskcoin for a year on youtube, i want to set up a miner and my question is can you buy an asic miner (any cheap one that says Bitcoin miner) as still us it to mine litecoin ?

Asic miners are algorithm specific, so a SHA-256 miner Bitcoin cant mine SCRYPT Litecoin something like a bitmain antminer L3 or a doge box from goldshell will make the most sense for a beginner, just to figure this stuff out. Good luck!

Best advice here is DYOR. There are videos explaining what it is, then from that you be able to get the info you want through a google search. Watch for scams, they are riddled in this space. If you power cost is more the .09 and .10 cents per kWh at home, then its not worth it. S19 series is now 2 generations old. Unless you have cheap power, you will make not nearly enough for a payback. Best to do your own research in this area.

Works for mining bitcoin, but as @TerraHosting said DYOR, and again, the S19 series is for SHA-256 which is bitcoin. You can mine BTC and get paid in LTC but that’s a whole nother thing
