Im new to GPU mining and need help :)

Hi all,

I’ve been interested in mining for some time now and want to try it but don’t really know how to start. I really would appreciate it if someone could help me or redirect me to a complete beginners guide :slight_smile:

I have

Asus Radeon RX 6600 XT DUAL - OC Edition
Rog Strix B450-F Gaming ii
AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

  1. at https://www.whattomine.com/ you find what to mine with your GPU and how profitable it currently is.
    enter the amount of cards you have (in your case 1 at 6600 XT), select your electric cost and hit the calculate button
  2. select one of the coins you like to mine and participate
    once you’ve decided on a coin you need to find a wallet to hold the coin, since there are hundreds of options, ask again later (after you know what to mine)
    Zelcore, Exodus, Trust Wallet are good choices for beginners. They hold hundreds of different coins.
  3. find out what mining software you need to mine that coin (a good source is here Mining software supported by Awesome Miner - its constantly updated)
  4. you also need to find a pool, where you can mine this coin of your choice https://miningpoolstats.stream/
    Enter the coin at the top left and select the coin in the opening drop down list. Once you at the coins page, you will see all pools that support that coin
  5. most of the pools have a help page, that guide you through the setup of the mining software
    select a pool close to you, make sure though you check out a few youtube videos on how to select a pool
    (min payout, type of share calc,…)
  6. the same procedure you do for your CPU (you most likely end up with XMR or RTM
    at Monero (XMR) RandomX | Mining Pools at the left side of the screen you see other CPU mineable coins
