Does anyone know the magic or secret sauce in getting an L7 to hash to litecoinpool.org?
Until this week, my L7 was at a hosting facility. When it was delivered to them back in early April, they tried over a span of 2 days to get the rig hashing to Litecoinpool. They claimed that they tried everything they knew without any luck. I used to have a MiniDoge and an LT5 Pro hashing to Litecoinpool without any issues. So when they told me that they couldn’t do it, I thought they were just full of bs.
Fast forward to today. My L7 is home now so that I could self-host. Thinking that i’m less lazy than the guys at the hosting facility, I setup my L7 on Litecoinpool mirroring my MiniDoge and LT5 settings, logged into the rig, clicked on “Settings”, entered my pool info, rig name etc and . . . . . Nothing. Wasn’t hashing. I rebooted it and tried again plus put in the password “root” this time . . . . Nothing. I spent an hour trying a smorgasbord of different settings. Nothing.
So I switched to F2 Pool, which is what the hosting center had used and where had my MiniDoge and LT5 had been hashing to before I switched to Litecoinpool. The L7 fired right up and has been happily hashing away since. Wtf? I don’t get it. It’s not my first rodeo setting up an ASIC rig.
For those with a L7 hashing to Litecoinpool, how’d you get it to work? Do I have to sacrifice a goat? Burn incense while spiritually chanting “Bitmain”? There’s got to be something that I’m missing as Litecoinpool is one of the largest LTC/DOGE pools and the L7 currently is the most powerful LTC/DOGE miner so one would think that the pool would be geared to accommodate L7’s.
I’ll fess up to not having contacted Litecoinpool support yet. Before trying that, I was hoping someone would have gone through a similar issue and already have the solution. And if anyone wants to know why I’m hell bent on Litecoinpool vs F2 Pool, then . . .
