Well, to begin, do research! Have you watched enough videos to have a general idea of the types of mining? After that, you would want to figure out your electricity costs… assuming you want to try to mine for profit and not just to support a particular project. This also assumes you are planning on mining from your current location using your own hardware. The next question would be budget… but, overall you would need to either mine using GPUs on a computer (Etherium or a handful of other coins) or buy ASICS that are devices built specifically for mining. ASICS tend to be more expensive, noisier, but more energy efficient… but, GPUs tend to have more resale value and can be used for more things.
