About $96 a month a either way. The only difference is the resistance factor. It flows a lot easier through 240 than 120. Just picture the electric as a golf ball and the voltage as a hose. I’d go 240 if you have the choice. Hope this helps.
The KD Lite uses 1330W. Assuming 120V, then it will draw 11A, or more like 12A if voltage is only 110V at the outlet. So you’re essentially going to have to dedicate a 15A circuit to the KD Lite. You can also have some LED lighting or other small draws on that circuit, but nothing significant.
And if it’s 110V at the outlet, then anything else that’s plugged into the KD Lite circuit will exceed 80% of the circuit’s capacity, i.e. it’d exceed the rule-of-thumb, factor of safety.
As noted above, 220V is still the way to go if possible.
Just to add some first principal here:
Power (in watts) equals the Voltage (in volts) multiplied by the Current (in Amps)
or
P = I * V, where P = power, I = current, and V = voltage.
Circuits and wires, are rated in Amps. So it’s useful to know how many Amps your miners draw.
Since a miner will always require the same amount of watts the only way to change the amount of Amps required, is to change the voltage.
to solve for current (I) we need to do some algebra and divide both sides by voltage to get current (I) by itself, which results in: Power divided by Voltage equals Current.
P / V = I
So why is this useful?
you want to make sure you do not exceed the number of amps your circuit is rated for. You can find this by opening your breaker box and taking a look at the breaker that controls the circuit you have your miners plugged into.
The breaker is the weakest point in the circuit, allowing it to fail (break/open the circuit) to protect the wire from burning up.
Increasing the voltage from 120V to 220V reduces the current draw by almost half, allowing you to run more miners on the same circuit without exceeding the max amps for that circuit.
lastly, always have electrician modify your power system.
