KD6 Preorders are now available

Thanks! I just created an account with them and sent an email hopefully I can get on that list somehow. At 38k I would like to buy 2!

Their tweet, @Goldshellminer , has a google docs registration form and a long list of terms and conditions. In short

  • lottery system via email
  • 11k down payment roundabout (non refundable)
  • rest upon request from Goldshell
  • 1 unit per registered buyer only.

I am not sure how many people are expressing their interest but it must be a ton. I’ve put my name down on the list, now to lean back and watch me not being selected

Unfortunately, it’s only 1 per account.

Can anyone explain what declared value is?

It’s what value Goldshell is making visible for customs. Maybe you want only 30k as value for import duty to not pay that much when its going through customs.

(sorry for my bad english)

John is right. Keep in mind that you can declare $1,000 for customs to skip fees. BUT you are also claiming that the contents are only worth $1,000 in the event of damage or loss. Your risk/reward.

So let’s say I get lucky to buy a KD6 directly from Goldshell for $38,000. How do I figure out how much customs, tariffs, tax, etc will be on top of the 38k?

Thanks for the help.

About 25% of the claimed value unless your state has additional state taxes.

Depends on where you live…

In Germany the 38k USD are 33,5k Euros. Import would be an extra 6,5k Euros.

What if you have another family member make an account? @Carl_Canady

The question is whether you really dare to cheat the customs?
I guess that also in other country the customs is an authority with corresponding powers.
Want to risk a potential confiscation just to save a few bucks?

Good idea, let me see if they approve me to even have the ability to pre order…fingers crossed lol

I just went to thier Twitter and filled it out myself, cross our fingers hope we get it man!

Well… that’s why I said it was your risk if you did this. And it’s not a few bucks. The tariff is 25% - so tack on $9,500 to the price. Many miner shippers don’t even ask you for value and put $100 on the label. I’m not saying it is right, I just want people to be prepared to pay DHL another $9,500 if asked.

yup, this ain’t a cheap hobby by any means. cries

To be fair, I doubt it. Doesn’t seem like a lot of them are being produced. I would expect demand to far outstrip supply and then we face a lottery. Oh well, guess I’ll be buying some MatchX miners then. HNT has completely gone to the dogs in my area as well [network too dense], not like it matters, my miners are totally stuck with bobcat’s supply backlog anyway, so by the time they get here, I won’t be making Jck sht  :frowning:

There is way more hype in HNT than KDA.

Agreed, when I first started my journey learning about the asic machines ā€œnot so much cryptoā€ HNT was thrown into my face as well as the bobcat miner. That didn’t seems to strike my interest, but regardless I had to shift through the HNT weeds to learn about ASICS which is very weird .

Joe, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mean to criticize your statement. On the contrary, I just wanted to point out that everyone should consider whether he can take responsibility for deceiving the respective state authority and possibly being caught doing so.
Over here, the customs requires the value of goods to be declared, to be proven by means of invoices and payment receipts.

And of course the import taxes + customs fees + DHL handling costs are a lot of money. But on the other hand, if you look around here how some people report how many devices they own or want to buy, the money seems to be relatively loose for some.
