L3++ Control board compatibility

I have a L3++ miner that came with a virus. I have not been able to remove it with any of the methods I can find in the internet with jumping the pins and flashing with a microSD. The control board in it is a v1.23. I found a v1.22 control board but am not sure it will be compatible. Also, I can return it and am wondering if I should just do that and try to get a different L3+ miner without a virus? Any thoughts?
