I recently came across a few old videos where a GPU was added to a laptop to mine. I am curious to learn if anyone uses this method for mining and if so, how its worked for them. I am considering purchasing a single GPU soon to test it out for mining and if all goes well I’ll buy the motherboard and power supply later for a starter rig.
If your laptop has lightning and supports it, you can use an enclosure like this https://eshop.macsales.com/item/AKiTiO/2PCTIA. I tried one, it worked.

The money you’ll spend on an enclosure is probably just as much or more than you’d spend on a motherboard, cpu, ram, and used power supply. Grab an EVGA PSU for mining they carry 10 year warranties normally.

True, I paid $250 for enclosure. I keep forgetting this is about making money.
