So as of now I got started with a basic trial on salad.io on my laptop with I suppose its my CPU…after 2 days I made a wopping 20 cents and Im very discouraged

I kept seeing ads for merit america on facebook through google an IT program that apparently counts as a bachelors toward computer science to gibe me more kmowledge and tools. Facebook marketplace is littered with GPU this and ASIC that for thousands of dollars…dont know which does what, for what crypto, on what website…FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN ANYONE HELP ME GET STARTED…ILL STUDY AND WORK TIRELESSLY!!!..
Where do I study…whats a god rig to get started like $500? Whta a good site to mine through, how do you use it? Can i use my laptop or do i need to upgrade to a gaming computer? PLEASE HELP!!!
I have only been on here for about 6 months and still have a LOT to learn but I started by watching videos on utube. Mostly voskcoin videos but there are others. Then I bought a used antminer S9 off of ebay. I probably watched 7 videos on how to hook it up. It had a static ip address so it took me a couple of days just to find it when I logged onto my router, but thats how I learn. My S9 is now sitting because it costs more in power than I get from it. (May look into overclocking)
My advice? Watch videos. There are some very smart and experienced people on this forum. Read the posts and ask questions. If you type ideas/questions into the search usually something comes up. Go to asicminervalue.com to look at different miners, coins and costs. Be careful of scammers and do your own research.
