Hi guys, I’ve had 4 Goldshell MiniDoge Box miners running for over a year on Dxpool but this month they went offline. So I updated the firmware on all of them to the current 2.2.5 and they came back on and worked for a day. Today, they went inactive, then offline for a couple hours, now suddenly they are online again. Is Dxpool the problem with too many rejects which might be causing them to get booted offline? I’m not sure if I should switch pools or go back to an old firmware. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This forum has helped me alot in the past. Thanks.
I would recommend to go back to the old software.
I kind of agree with Krisz here.
From your post I can’t understand if it was your ISP, Your miners, or DxPool.
Are they all powered by the same PSU ?
There seems to be a lot of variables. Take it from the top and remain control. You know the old firmware worked. So in that setting/case, what are the variables? PSU, ISP, Gear (including firmware), Pool. Your router (they do burn out and play on/off before they ‘die’) ?
Just a wild guess, if firmware was the issue, everyone else would be talking about this also. So that may not be it.
I was not aware that ISP can cause issues. All other devices on this same ISP are working properly. I will try a different pool first and if the problem remains, I will go back to 2.2.1. But these are not the Pro Box versions so maybe they just have too many rejects now that they are old. Thanks for your advice guys.
I agree, there are a lot of different variables. I had a similar thing with 2 ck box’s. Both stopped hashing at different times or at the same time.
I eliminated the psu, Ethernet ports and changed pools. In the end I raised a ticket with Goldshell who were awesome. Essentially they pointed me towards the log files when the things stopped hashing, that was if I could login not the units and eventually dialled into to the box. If you’ve not noticed any issues with your isp, then looking through logs would show if it’s a network problem. The logs are lengthy and unless you know what to look for and interpret them, it’s a job for Goldshell. But in the meantime roll your firmware back and try eliminate what you can and contact Goldshell if you’re stuck.
Best of luck
