Mining with older PCs + GPU while waiting for ASIC

Hi everyone, I’m somewhat new to crypto but getting super excited about it. I saw Vosks videos on YT and ended up here. I’m aware that ASICs are basically required at this point for mining bitcoin or kadena. I’m planning to get one or more when I can.

While I’m waiting to get my ASICs, I was thinking about repurposing some older machines I have and get my feet wet mining. QUESTION: Are there any coins worth mining on GPU? Is any coin profitable on GPU? (or CPU for that matter)

Would greatly appreciate any recommendations or pointers to resources. Thanks!

I think so.

I currently mine CCX , thinking about switching to Raptoreum or XEQ .

You might want to use https://tradeogre.com for wallets. They have wallets for most mined coins. It’s not as fancy as some credit card exchanges, but it will do well for testing/learning/playing around.

I’m currently using Cudominer on a Dell dual processor. CPU Mining Monero , and letting cudo’s algorithm choose the most profitable coin of the moment, auto exchanging to BTC. I currently have 2 1080s, and 1 1660 mining. The 4x USB card I bought died so I can’t run my p104-100s till I get a new splitter.

Yes. I have 4-5 ASIC machines, but I still use nicehash on my office computer GPU (I was GPU mining Raven before the halving, then switched to NiceHash), and I CPU mine raptoreum with my office computer as well. I shut both the miners off in the morning, do my workday, and then turn the miners back on before I leave the office for the day. I’m not making much maybe $0.50-$1.00 per day, but that is still more than 0.
