New to this Crypto mining world

What’s a good rig to start with when just learning

What’s your budget?
Do you know what coin you’d like to mine?
Do you have the ability to run it at your home/garage or will you need it to be hosted somewhere?

ETH,Shib,doge,Bct
I want to say 2K or maybe a little more Yes I have the ability to run it at my house If most of them run off of higher voltage I’ll have to change the breaker I know a professional that will do it

Maybe try GPU mining if your budget is only 2K. It’s a fun experience to build your own mining rig and you learn a lot in the process. Me and my kids built my first rig together

The price of video cards have gone up so high doesn’t Seem worth it I have my gaming PC running for crypto right now this was my 1st attempt to learn . I’ve seen some rigs that aren’t too expensive to just get Maybe 1 or 2 to start Just thought I’d ask ideas on what people think would be a good one to start if it costs more than 2 grand I’m sure I can manage a little more.

The biggest question no one ask what is your electrical rate that mater more then anything else

This might sound dumb but where would I go to check that Right now the average monthly bill is a $180

Your looking for kw price

You can check your electric bill and it should show in there what you’re paying per kilowatt hour (kWh). Most electrical rates are $0.10-0.15 but you should check. It can change your profits quite a bit depending on the wattage of your rig.

Once u find that out then u can figure if it profitable to mine with a asic

I’d say if your above .15 there really nothing in the 2k price range you can try m20 or l3 are within your price range m20 is little more then 2k if u can find and most asic will need a 220 id say 30 amp to run them right

52 kW $4.62 This is for the month of March

I’m assuming that is KWh, not kW, but divide your price by the KW, so you’re rate for that is $0.088 / KWh. Not too bad!

So moving forward, you can input that into a bunch of calculators on line to computer your profits if you know what type of power supply you have and what GPUs/ miners.

You’re right sorry about that Kwh

Do u want to mine using a asic or gpu is next question

I’ve been scoring Nvidia 1660 Supers at Best Buy for $330 each. Those babies can work hard. Right now they’re averaging $1.50 daily per card, minus electricity cost which is pretty minimal. 5 of those will get you pulling $7.50 a day at a cost of $1,650. Not a bad investment considering you’d have to spend double just to achieve the same result with an ASIC

See that’s y I say it’s up to u I prefer asic over gpu now

asic More curious about that to be honest I did a lot of looking into GPU in the beginning and video card prices are ridiculous and some are hard to get asic Seems to be a better advantage to go at I’m understanding the funds that I currently could use isn’t a lot but it’s just something to get my foot in the door I will have More money to work with hopefully here soon Just waiting for to come inWilling to learn trying to be patient

I’d say try get your self a m20 or so for around 2500 maybe little more that should roi under a year and is close to your price range or you can try a l3 but u do t make much with them

No worries! Have fun!
