So I bought an Xilinx control board for my S19 J pro, however they sent me an amlogic by mistake… I was pretty keen to test overclocking so I took the 7007 board out of my L7 and flashed it so I could test overclocking on the S19. I tried LuxOS and keep in mind any watts that the screenshot says is not what my wall power says - I will post that below with the screenshots. Also keep in mind I am running 2 X 730 CFM fans with it that total 150 watts of power and that is included with my wall power
I only ran each profile for about 20 minutes each just for shits and giggles, and the temps look good also. There’s other overclocking firmware I am keen to try like Asic.to and Vnish. Good fun trying to work all this jazz out and learn the ropes, maybe if I buy another one I’ll get one of those 8000 watt PSUs and OC it to the moon lol
I couldn’t get asic.to to load, I’m using a 32gb card and they say no bigger than 16gb so not sure if that’s an issue, same with vnish but regardless I find it super cool, running the 3600 watts at 122th has been running well
8kw?? ON ONE MINER?!?! thats above hydro levels haha. Do post your results if you do that Also, anyone else seen the iceriver asic making 700+ PER FRICKIN DAY? (red panda mining)
I wonder how long that will last lol
I think that if you get the 8000 watt PSU you can OC it to 170th for like 6500 watts from memory using other firmwares, it’s good if you have electricity to burn Yeah I have seen that and I’m pretty sure Badger posted it on here, I aint touching it with a 10 foot pole!
Interesting that where I live has come cold the past few days, 11-12 degrees Celsius and the 122TH profile temp has dropped from 52 degrees to 38 degrees, and the power consumption has dropped from 3640 to 3500 watts, perhaps it doesn’t have to work so hard with it being cold, I probably could turn off one of my fans to eliminate another 75 watts which would put efficiency at 28 watts/TH compared to the stock which is 28.57 watts/TH which is pretty cool, getting 8gb SD cards today so I can test Vnish and Asic.to as I couldnt get them to work with my 32gb SD (even as Fat32)
I have my fans set on max regardless, and I did get asic.to and Vnish to work but my results were far worse than advertised, so I think I’ll stick with Luxos it’s cool toGet an extra 16TH for the same efficiency
Yes as soon as you take the sd card out it goes straight back to Bitmain firmware, but if you want to try another firmware after you have to flash to stock Bitmain firmware first then the other firmware
I think I’ll keep this S19 J pro as it is and get in a S19 XP and a bigger PSU for it and see how much I can overclock it, pretty good fun just tinkering around with it and pushing to the limit!
You do realize two 120th will crush the xp and are same price or cheaper. The xp lets just say hits 200th at 6k watts. Two 120 not pushed but underclock is less kw and less abuse. Me personally I go for 96 95 104 that have sd slot
Yes but keep in mind from my perspective everything I do is based around my solar production. I want to automate my setup to change profiles based on my solar production and battery levels. So early mornings it would likely be best to underclock and try to get the most efficient th to kw at what I’m assuming is the 2.5kw mark and then at peak production overclock it. I reckon the resale price during a bullrun of an XP with Xilinx board/8000watt PSU would also be pretty good
Currently on my home I have 8kw/13kw battery but in June/July I am expected to get 40kw of solar hooked up to my 40kw batteries (only 30kw useable) (been saying this since September lol) and every year I want to add another 40kw of solar if all goes well and in 5 years time I want to ditch these batteries and get 20 X 20kw batteries connected together to create a 400kw battery bank. That might change because by that time there might be better equipment but baby steps first and hopefully I’ll build myself into a position where I can do that
