at what point does it make sense to mine solo? just if you have a lot of capacity and different units mining on other pools as well, I assume? Any other reason a small noob would go solo mining?
I’ve never met anyone who solo mined before but I imagine you wouldn’t get far unless you had a good size mining farm of your own

you see these clickbait headlines of people getting 4 eth solo mining lately… 6 btc the other day… probably just because its more mainstream to hit the news

Think about it like this, if you’re not joining a pool to mine then they’re your competition in a way. At least that’s how I see it
