PSU recommendations

1st post so please be nice. I have been looking at some antminers. S9, L3+ and others, but I’m definitely going with Antminers. I have easy access to 110 and 220. No immediate plans for more, just dipping my feet in. My power rate is .053 + the extra s***, and I’m a bit supporter of solar.
OK… what power supply do I need or what would be best? I never get the cheapest or the best of the best…
Please help this old guy who wants to mine. My background is IT, digital printing, hw/sw support and user guides for the company. So I know more than some, but less than most.

Thx! Ed-G

most of the time miners come with a power supply built in. Unless you get an older model, which it sounds like that’s what you’re looking at. I too started with an S9 and Antminers can be easily configured to boot 3rd party firmwares, most notably braiinsOS, from a micro SD card. Which gives you more power control options and has an autotune function. My recommendation would be to find some that come with a power supply. But you can always use a 110-220VAC to 12VDC server PSU just ensure that it can deliver the watts you need with some margin. For example, an S9 at max power is 1450W, most use a 1500W power supply.

Bitmain APW3++ PSU Input 240V AC - Output 12V DC, 1800w, 10 * 6 Pin PCI-E possibly?

I believe that some people think that the fan is slightly noisy, however I can’t find the DB rating atm…

As stated by @unix60959 something like a 1500-1600 watt psu is perfect for an s9. For an l3, probably a 1200 watt, to be on the safe side.
