PSUs for multi kd boxs & iPollos

No noise at all.

I noticed no one mentioned EVGA power supplies. Any particular reason for that?

Very quiet. I love these and I have one running my KD and CK boxes. Also I have another running my 8 xrtx 3060 to FE rig with no probs.

For me, KD box pros & I’m eyeing the KD lite.

Reasoning: pretty much plug and play, no need for added electrical upgrades.

The industry is kind of all over the place right now. KDA is way down, will it stay that way? I mean who could say, nobody really. As of right now my iPollo v1 mini comes just under the profit ranking of the KD lite & for the price point it’s a really hard decision as to which will have the best ROI.

Machines that are over 20k kind of scare me. Something breaks you could be without return profits for several weeks and depending on what your setup is for financing, or just paying cash straight out can have major impact on long-term profitability.

Hey bro, do you fan cool your psu’s? That 1200 hp must get burnin hot! I got all mine turned up on their side to let more heat dissipation with fans blowing through the vented ports.

They do give a lot of heat for sure. I have not got to many, but I do have to be conscious on hot days as the heat can get drawn back through the miners. Due to the horrendous costs we are facing with electricity, it’s a balance between using ventilation to keep the miners running. I do have a acinfinity 200mm extractor in the loft that draws most of the heat away. But we have experienced severely hot days and even fans and the vent were not too effective. But generally the vent and leaving my back door open during the day works very well.

I was hoping to migrate everything to my garage but our fix term electric rate finishes next June and I don’t want to eat into any profits at the moment as I could be paying 3x the electric I am at the moment. Currently I’m paying 0.189/kWh ($.22/kWh) But I might have to close it all down after next June.

I might add a flux node using a spare laptop I have if it’s spec is up to the job.

If heat is a major issue, perhaps switching back to 460w psu’s, give or take a few watts. Available power outlets may become an issue but with a surge protector or, PDU, you should have plenty of outlets.

750w plus gets very, very hot, but my 460w server psu’s are pretty much cool to the touch.

Goldshells’ vs iPollos’: iPollos’ push out way less heat, but their 300w psu’s also get very hot (plastic, no venting), but the asics are a much cooler unit than Goldshells’. At least temp-wise.

On my 1200W plus I use a small honeywell fan it keeps it cool. My 750W does not get hot.
