Actually, I’d like to see a way to capture waste heat in a sand battery and recycle to heat AND electricity.
I recently saw something about a compnay using sand for a thermal battery.
the issue with miner heat is that it’s considered very low grade when you talk about waste heat recovery back into electricity. But this is definitely something I’ve also thought about.
such as using TEC’s in reverse bias, mounted between the ASIC chips and heatsink, with ideally a closed loop liquid cooled heatsink, not emersion. but with the low grade heat they may only be 5% efficient

I was looking at these today. Afraid my math & electrical skills aren’t up to the modeling task, but maybe someone could test bench your design idea with an old L3 or S9. Or perhaps putting these on the bottom of a hot solar panel …
I plan to do some tests in the future. Just not sure when that will be haha.
