I read that it would be possible to use a SSH command.
To remotely turn off the mining.
But I can’t get it to work on a new Bitmain Asic. (password wont work)
Have Bitmain blocked this on newer machines?
Or is there any other way to do this? telnet?
I don’t know much about shutting down miners via the methods you mentioned. However, I was considering getting some “smart plugs,” and have my miners connected through them, so I can power them off and on from my phone from wherever if needed. Not sure if this is a safe or common method.
Smart plugs exist all over europe. In the US we have to use 500 to 1000 dollar manage strips. that only support maybe 2 machines.
I don’t know the safety of using something like this, bc still learning that part. But I was thinking something like this…
Limited-time deal: Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip KP303, Surge Protector with 3 Individually Controlled Smart Outlets and 2 USB Ports, Works with Alexa & Google Home, No Hub Required , White https://a.co/9j9NExU
Sure if you are powering box 110v machines.
Only allow a 1850w of power draw
Hi, I have heard people using TeamViewer to remotely control say a pc on their home network which then allows you to access the miner using a web browser. Otherwise although I’ve not done it there’s a way you can use a raspberry pi to access your miner.
Finally there is this
https://gristleking.com/how-to-get-remote-access-to-your-hotspot/
To be clear will the RaspberryPi be inside or outside the network? The Pi is just a mini computer so it can do anything the question is how you intend to use it and what tool(s) you want to use to accomplish your end goal.
Team viewer works good what I use when I’m on vacation which is like 3 months out of the year. But u can’t kill power to asic you’ll need a managed pdu (switched pdu)to remotely turn off power to a asic those are not cheap ps I just use my next door neighbor if I need a plug pulled
On the Bitmain web-interface there is no option to shutdown, just restart.
So even if you can access the network you won’t be able to turn off the asic.
Ok. I personally wouldn’t use smart plugs for safety reasons. The only way that you could switch the thing off remotely would be to us a pdu that allows such remote switching.
