Suggestions for entry into crypto mining

Good evening. I posted earlier but maybe didn’t ask the right questions or give enough info. The responses I received were helpful but brought up other questions. A little about me. I am northwest of Houston and own some rural property. I am a contractor with Plumbing and Electrical licenses. I plan to start reinvesting profits and savings into crypto mining. I have been investing in Bitcoin for several years now.

I am completely convinced Bitcoin is the people’s money of the future and have been doing extensive research on it and the problems with Fiat money and how Bitcoin solves those problems. I plan to mine Bitcoin but I keep hearing there are other coins that are much more profitable with a much higher ROI. If anyone has the desire to share real world experiences on which coins have the best ROI I would be very appreciative.

Also on Bitcoin mining I had planned to buy 4-5 S19 pro machines but I am finding they are very hard to get and super expensive. My logic may be flawed but it seems like $15K for an antminer S19 with 110/ths is not as good a deal as 15 Antminer S9,s that cumulatively have 202.5/ths for the same $15K cost…

I will be using immersion cooling with bitcool and a drycooler. I may build my own drycooler as it is something very similar to other units we have built for plumbing applications in the past. Either way I will be building my own immersion cooling vessels most likely from aluminum sheets and pipe as I have experience with aluminum welding and construction. We have a commercial electricity rate of 6.8¢/kw and would eventually add solar pv as we can do it all in house. Looks like immersion cooling will allow us to reduce electricity use considerably or overclock the ASICS and keep the power consumption the same or lower.

Also curious about the best mining pools but I will look through posts on here.

This is a great site and hats off to Vosk for his experience and passion in Bitcoin and crypto in general.

By the way my initial budget for asic miners is $60K

Thanks for your time.

Im pretty new myself but i think this should answer the questions about the 4-5 s19’s vs the 15 s9’s

I saw you plan on doing the electrical work yourself but have you factored in materials for the infrastructure needed for that much power consumption?

Let’s start with the obvious. The S19J pro will be new, the S9 will be used. You’re less likely to have issues with the new models and they’ll still be profitable as the difficulty increases, or after the next halving event. The S9 are only profitable due to the cost of Bitcoin right now. Of you’re planning to HODL then it doesn’t matter which route you go, but if you’re planning on selling to get your ROI definitely go with the S19J pro

Asicminervalue.com is a good resource to compare the ROI for different miners.

Thanks. I will check them out. As far as electrical we can build a service much larger than we can power. Our property can run up to 1000 amp single phase service with the existing electrical service from Centerpoint. Unfortunately we only have satellite internet which is probably fast enough just unreliable. AT&T internet service is about 3 miles away.
