Now that sounds fun. Curious on what the increase in rewards might be…

I was using bitcoin core as a node which I liked and is a great way of supporting the bitcoin infrastructure as I had a spare mini pc. Then I wished to mine to my own node, but I struggled to find a solution where I mined directly to my own node, that wasn’t linked to a pool and whereby I’d still be paying fees. I simply wished to use my own stratum gateway, to mine with my own miners.

I ended up wiping my mini pc/server that had Core on it and installed Bitcoin knots along with Datum gateway to run my own stratum. It’s been running great for a few weeks and I’m waiting on a couple of Bitaxe 601’s to try solo mining to the node. I guess for me, this is kind of the barebones of mining Bitcoin (or any other crypto gor that matter) and I just wished to partake in mining at its rawest level.

I tried to get the new FutureBit 2.0 but it’s only on sale for a few minutes every Friday so I just decided to build my own Pi and run StartOS. I’m a few days into syncing again after my first attempt of bitcoin core on Ubuntu but now I’m going with Knots on StartOS. Hopefully I can finally mine to my own node and contribute to the network as well.

what pool software are you planning on using ?
I am running bitcoin knots on a X58 motherboard 20gb ram with 1TB boot drive and 2TB bitcoin block chain data drive
on the fence when it comes to mining pool software, have another x58 mother board 20gb ram 1TB drive both boards have 5650 processors 6 cores 12 threads, looking at cool-pool multi algorithm pool
