Trying to get started

I have almost zero knowledge of crypto currency and the same about mining how can I get started

You are in the right place. Remember the famous quote from Henry Kissinger. ‘ even paranoids have enemies”

Good place to start,

First you should understand your budget and how fast you want it to get back.
If its just a hobby I would suggest starting with few goldshell boxes and if higher budget maybe kd-box.

I highly recommend asicminershub.com as I bought from them several times and planing to order again. They do have some promotions going on from Time to time.
The bonus is that they offer cc and PayPal payment options. So as a newbie its a safe bet. Some other websites asking for crypto or bank transfers and there are lots of scam ones. You send your hard earned money and see no miner.

This dude is blasting an overpriced asic seller all over this forum. I wonder why that is? They just joined 2 hours ago lol.

what else is new. haters, scalpers ACTUAL scammers. but hate and whine and blame the real people. and get themselves dragged to court for what they do . wikked . ima enjoy it tho * no offense to anyone who wasnt part of it btw

Here’s what we’d suggest. Buy a cheap bitcoin miner like antminer s9 along with PSU from ebay or elsewhere. Will only cost you a couple hundred bucks. It will mine on household 120V. It probably won’t be profitable, but you will learn the basics like how to set up mining pool , setting up wallets, getting payouts, and dealing with heat and noise. Once you’ve run this S9 for a couple of weeks, you can decide if you would like get deeper into mining by buying more expensive machines. Good luck!

Thanks for your feedback. Is there a safe retailer who will sell quality items without tearing my head off? Most eBay auctions are from China and Australia and have limited reviews. I want to start soon, but can’t find a safe/ reasonable purchase.
Thanks

Go to Aliexpress get anything you want quick delivery and secure payment this is where I get all my miners.Execellnt service good prices all ways pay trough Aliexpress DHL 7 days to your door.Allways order with PSU

You should start by studying first. Maybe some free courses in youtube can help!

I went the S9 route. Picked up one from ebay and played with it. I’ll sell it here in a bit when my new miners come in.
But its a great way to go. You get to see really how loud a miner can be and you get your hands dirty playing with the 240v electricity, mining pools, wallets, selling your coins, etc.

You might want to go the L3+ route. It is a little profitable. Currently about a dollar a day after electric(that will depend on your rates) Should be able to find one with a power supply for $800 to $900 ish.
