Used S17 Pro Asicminer market

Hello. I am looking to buy my first miner and I have come across a used s17 on Asicminer market. I am wondering has anyone bought a used miner in the past and if they have used Asicminer market. Would any recommend not buy a used miner. Thanks

I’d say it depends on where you’re getting your ASIC from. With used equipment there’s no real guarantee. Someone can promise you it’ll work just fine but anything sold as used is essential “As is”

DONT BUY THE S17, it’s junk. I’ve sourced them and none of them have survived. Been forced to refund customers over this thing. I got one on my shelf, showed up with at least 20 loose heatsinks and many more missing. I’d recommend the whatsminers and avalon’s if you’re buying used. I’ve reduced my return policy on bigskyasics.com from 30 days to 5 days to reflect the overall poor quality of used miners coming out of China.

Hi Aaron. Thank you for the feedback. I was also look at the goldshell CK5. I noticed one for sale on your website. Is this a new or used model. Also do u ship to Europe. Thanks

Yes we ship to Europe, the one on site is new. But I can get it cheaper used if that’s acceptable.

Are the heat sinks the major weak link or are other parts as well.

I agree S17 is a junk if it is used you will have all kind of issues if it will manage to come in one piece it is very sensitive to transport damage and heatsinks are falling down like apples in the season
If it comes used from China you would be surprised how bad miner could look like.
I really do not recommend, on the other hand it has nice efficiency for quite good price if used but I would recommend to buy only from somebody in person and to check condition before…

I’m trying to get a technician hired on, so we can start offering repair services. I’m also hoping to pick up broken miners for cheap, get them patched up and working again. Maybe we can get these S17’s shining again. There are quite a few people who can’t afford much more than that, and I think it would be awesome to be able to offer them at a low prices so more people can get in on mining.

Hi Aaron. What price are the used CK5. Are they in good condition. Thanks

Last price I had for a used CK5 was $9200, with a two month warranty remaining on it. I can only say that it will be fully functional when it shows up. I can’t guarantee the aluminum case will be pristine. If you’re ready to buy let me know I’ll double check the price.

+1 for avoiding the 17 series. I have two and get maybe 2-3 hasboards out of the six to work on a regular basis. I’d much rather have one S19 than several S17’s.
