Would it be a good idea to set up the modem to go through vpn so that all ASICs go through it?

I guess I am trying to see if there should be a concern of IP address being shown when connecting to a pool.

I hear of the use of VPN when going to exchanges that do not allow your jurisdiction; so, wanted to find out if some people extend it further to include the ASIC connections, etc.

Also, if not using VPN when connecting ASICs to a pool, is there a way for a bad actor to exploit that?

I guess the downside is you increase your latency; would this trade-off be worth it?
