Is it recommended that you run a firewall and or vps for your mining rig for added security and anonymity?
Use SSL if you don’t have a VSP tunnel. most phrases to use in your start_Mining.bat file either contain:
-o stratum+ssl://your pool url:port# or
-o ssl://your pool url:portt#
The port number is available on the pools webpages and is usually the tcp port with a 1 in front of it.
ssl is encrypted so no man in the middle can redirect your wallet payments
