Hi! In the past four months I purchased an RTX 3070 VENTUS 2X OC for gaming (I know its not the best model, but is the one I could get) and I have been using for mining for about two months while I’m at work.
I’ve followed some undervolting guides to protect the GPU from overheating and it is perfoming quite well. But when I turn off the mining software (T-Rex v.0.20.01, mining EHT with algo ethash) and the GPU goes from 68°C to idle temperature (about 45°C) I hear one (only one) ticking noise that I find worrying. I believe it is related to the sudden change in temperature of the GPU.
Is there a chance to lower the GPU temps in a slower way as to stress it less?
