What’s going on everyone,
I have a 6 slot GPU rig that is ruining 1660 Supers. (Got a great deal, couldn’t resist) there are 5 currently mining all at around 31mh. Although when I hooked up my 6th GPU, powered the rig and went to restart miner, it would show the entire rig as being offline.
I am using HIVEOS and have never encountered this problem. My power supply is 1200w so it’s good to roll. Just not understanding why my rig doesn’t go online with 6 cards but when I take anyone out. It appears online with 5.
Anyone encountered this issue before?
Had this same issue when setting up my first GPU miner, It got resolved by checking all the connections, swapping out a few gpu risers, testing risers against gpus that are working to see if the riser is bad. Not sure exactly what the issue was, but essentially just used trial and error. Swap components.
I’d start by swapping the one gpu you’re adding with one that is already running to see if it’s the gpu itself. If it comes online, then it might be the riser, or the cable that connects the riser to the motherboard. Try plugging the cable into different pcie slots.
Also I’ve had an issue with HIVEOS before, nothing worked. Then I switched to SMOS, then it decided it wanted to work. GPU miners are finnicky at best, so I just decided to switch to ASIC miners as I didn’t want to deal with the headache.

I’ve tried everything. It’s ok though I’m content with just running 5 gpus. Just weird when I put the 6th one in it just says offline in Hiveos. I’ll put the other on in my pc and use it for gaming haha
Hey Lawlessly - if you’re still interested in troubleshooting try running the “agent-screen” command from ‘Shell in a box’ - since you are connecting to your Rig local with Shell in a box you should be able to do so offline … the agent screen info should provide a good clue as to what’s going on … hope that helps - Tom
