Antminer L3+ in 2022

nevermind

When you are running at these absurd overclocks
Do a simple calculation to determine watts per mh

Then you’ll realize your running so inefficiently all your doing is paying more electricity

I’ll say it again

The wpdat no dev fee ASICfw firmware can’t be beat

It’s less that 660w for 500mh+

Check it at the wall
Hive dashboard lies

I was doing some firmware testing on one L3+ today, took me a while to get out of the hiveon firmware even from the hiveos farm method…

The only firmware i was able to flash from hiveos was Vnish.

And now im trapped into Vnish…lol

Very annoying how they lock you in with their firmware…

I only ran Vnish for a few hours but i cant say that its better than Hive for now honestly…

I would like to give ASICfw a try if i can get out of of Vnish now.

use a SD card on FAT32 or install Awesome miner App on DESKTOP , add ur asic, right click asic tools, update firmware… usually works most of the time. thats what i use to get out of FACTORY firmware thats sig locked etc

EVERYTHING U NEED IS HERE. from sd card unlocks to firmwares… use responsibly read texts and instructions - im not responsible for your use FOR L3+ AND L3++

Thanks for this Steven!

So after all those tests, seems like youre running Vnish?

isnt it all

Oh, you are active

You are right about this wpdat firmware. I have my miners clocked higher then ever using the same if not less power then I was able to get with the HiveOn firmware. I do agree with your underclocking method as well. The way I look at it since I can afford to pay my power bill without selling any crypto I want to mine as much as possible while its low. I’m not looking at crypto through fiat dollar eyes. At least not right now.

It’s less power I’ve checked at the wall
Happy mining

Also no developer fee pool like hiveon makes a big difference

just make sure to keep the temps in check , and MAKE sure u are 10or less HW error/min per board and low to no rej. reate, and you should be fine

I wonder when L3+ prices will again align with one year ROI? These machines are not young and have been used for several years before we get them, often with repaired hash boards. We are now looking at two year ROI at current selling prices. That is a long time to wait for payback and most certainly will incur some kind of repair along the way.

I know the prices are high

I’m fearful since I recently acquired my 6 machines and now L7s have begun shipping

It will be interesting to see if the difficulty increases now that they are shipping. I think they have been mining with them for months. If that’s true, we shouldn’t see much difference.

I agreewith you. bitmain probably used it for themselves, but now that the coin price is dropping, they have no reason to hold it.

If you know where to buy them at the right price, add a little firmware tweaking and some luck that it wont break, you can still ROI in about a year currently depending of your electricity cost…

But yeah, i am worried about the L7 impacts too.

That makes mining with an L3+ a gamble, drzmat. I have two L3+ machines mining with stock Bitmain firmware and they each return just $1/day net (12 cent residential electricity). As mentioned, these are well used machines by the time we get them and price should reflect that. To hot rod these things, trying to squeeze every last penny out of them, is risky. Not sure I would do that with a new machine let alone the ones we get today.
